Today, we turn eight! Happy birthday MediaCast!
Last weekend, we celebrated eight years of MediaCast in style – on a yacht! Dressed up in our best nautical outfits, we stepped aboard the Aussie Princess for a day of cruising the Brisbane River.
After an afternoon of guessing each other’s most-used emojis, a battle of boating puns, and debating an array of topics (cheese IS overrated!), we sat down for drinks and dinner to reminisce on all of the amazing highlights from the year that’s been.
We’ve just finished wrapping the 2023 National Volunteer Week, a campaign we’ve had the pleasure of working with Volunteering Australia on for the last seven consecutive years!
Not one to sit still, we had to outdo ourselves this year and deliver not only the biggest campaign of the year, but the most successful campaign in MediaCast history, with a whopping 1,170 items of coverage secured! A huge congratulations to the whole team for their work in delivering another recording-breaking campaign!
We are continuously proud of the collaboration and sense of camaraderie felt by our team. In fact, over the past 12 months, our incredible team have had their pitching hats on delivering a massive 356 campaigns, which has equated to over 31,000 items of coverage secured!

Having worked with Orange Sky on a number of occasions across the last few years, we are also thrilled to be partnering with Orange Sky Australia on a retained basis currently. And in exciting news, we are delighted to announce that MediaCast has the honour of being selected to lead their biggest campaign of the year, The Sudsy Challenge!
Over the past year, we have been working hard to achieve meaningful media exposure for both new and returning clients. Our presence has been prominent across top tier TV programs like Sunrise, The Morning Show, A Current Affair and The Project. Additionally, we have communicated our clients' messages through hundreds of print and digital platforms, including the Herald Sun, Courier Mail, The Daily Telegraph, 9Honey, and news.com.au. On top of this, let’s not forget that radio remains a crucial part of our success, with notable broadcast highlights including ABC News Radio, National Radio News, 2GB, and 3AW.
MediaCast’s consistent display of excellence led us to be shortlisted for two PRIA 2022 Golden Target Awards. Our work for Child Protection Week 2021 was recognised in the Small Budget Campaign category, and we were also up for Small/Boutique Agency of the Year.
Not only this, but our wonderful Managing Director, Fran, was named a Founding Member of the PRCA APAC: Australia Network! We are thrilled for Fran to help create a more professional, ethical, and prosperous PR industry.
It is always fantastic to receive recognition within the industry, but we also love celebrating the internal wins and achievements of our team!
For the past few years, our incredible Director, George, has been developing BUZZHub as an end-to-end workflow platform for communications professionals. Despite other industries having workflow solutions, communications professionals have to jump between a range of products to deliver their daily work.
The new specialised workflow platform will be the new best friend of any communicator looking to improve how they work, providing complete oversight of past and present workloads and can create anything from a sales contract, media pack, coverage report or invoice. Its integrated portals provide content for talent, clients and the media, whilst business leaders gain oversight of business performance from time spent on activities, sales pipeline, and surveys.

The more, the merrier!
As our team continues to grow, we’ve welcomed three new team members to the MediaCast family which has already seen exciting growth and strengthened relationships with the media and our clients.
We expanded the team in September with the introduction of our new Communications Assistant, Blake! Providing support to the broader team with both the development and execution of campaigns, Blake helps our clients achieve their goals.
The team grew even bigger in February, when we welcomed two new members, our fabulous new Senior Account Executive, Angela and outstanding new Account Manager, Lauren! Both come to us with a breadth of experience within communications and thorough knowledge of all aspects of campaign delivery.
Angela and Lauren have already proven to be wonderful additions to the team, and we can’t wait to see what they both will achieve as part of the MediaCast family!
We’ve also seen a plethora of promotions since our last birthday. Following our seventh birthday, Jess was promoted to Senior Account Executive last June. November and December were busy months, with both Chelsea and Daniel being promoted to Account Executive, and Ava stepping up into a Junior Account Executive position.
Progressing up the chain at unseen speed, just this past week Amy took on the role of Head of Delivery, as Cavill steps into a new position of Director of Clients, People and Culture when she returns from maternity leave at the end of next month!
With there being many intricacies in our industry that can only be learned through experience, careful observation, and a commitment to continuous growth, witnessing our entire staff flourish and excel has been an absolute delight.
Suffice to say, what a year!
